Balmatta-Pandeshwar Combo

It aint college days....It aint blore employed days...and yet old habits die hard...
Back in college we would find time to explore carts serving food...and more often we were forced to , either when mess food got worse or when we ran out of cash to get into the expensive restaurants.....

This weekend was packed with activity , Ocean's 13 did let us get back to college tempo when 6 of us met at Adlabs. But the icing was the visit to froth on top.A new joint in mlore..serves beer and other non alcoholic beverages and good non veg food.
Its an old typical mlore tile roofed house converted into a nice evening joint.Country music was playing and I had 2 o my pals to give comapny. One about to leave for Muscat and the other just back from Dubai ,yeah we did have an ocassion to celebrate. :)

By the time we left the place , it was late evening. Mlore sleeps by nine on a normal day , and rainy days are on so it sleeps earlier. With no places for a quick bite open , we decided to do it the Mpal way.

Believe me South Kanara is one place where food on carts taste the best . I remember in manipal there were varities of them . One was a Matador van which would open up in the noon , serving fish curry rice for just 8 bucks . For the evenings there was a cart exclusievely for chat , one serving rolls and one for sweets . And of course there were the ones which never slept , yeah the student friendly chai thela , bun omlette / keshto / masala / cheese omlette / masala tea / and above all an account to pay later early next month.

Balmatta to Pandeshwar is quite far with traffic, but on a rainy night with city almost shut it took us hardly 10 mins.If you are a boiled egg freak...this cart at Pandeshwar is the place to be. EGG CHILLY here is juz awesome. If thats not good enough try bhel and green salad. The taste is slurp slurp . :) Especially the lime topped tender cucumber just neutralises everything including egg chilly .Kokam ,the local cranberry juice makes the merry dinner merrier .:)

Simpli-city thats what I call namma Mlore and with friends around it just makes life much more easier and joyful...just like the Balmatta Pandeshwar Combo Meal...
